Making sense… (somehow)

Friend is a word that i don’t throw around
Though it is used and abused, i still like the sound
I save it for people who’ve done right by me
and i know i could count on if ever need be
some of my friends drive big limousines
own ranches and banks and visits with greens
and some of my friends are up to their neck
in overdue ntes and can’t write a check
they’re singers and writers
and others, God bless ‘em, can’t blow their own nose!
i guess being friends doesn’t have anything to do
with talent or money or knowing who’s who
it’s a comfortable feeling when you don’t have to care
‘bout choosing your words of being quite fair
‘cause friends will just listen and let go on by
those words you don’t mean and not bat an eye
it makes a friend happy to see your success
they’re proud of your good side and forvien all the rest
and that ain’t so easy all the time,
sometimes i get crazy and seem to go blind!
your friend just might have to take you home
or remind you sometime, you’re not alone!
or even so gently pull you back to the ground,
when you think you could fly when no one is around.
a hug or a shake, which ever seems right
is the high point of giving, I’ll tell you tonight,
all worldly riches and tributes of men,
CAN’T HOLD A CANDLE TO WORTH OF A FRIEND.

Friends, worth sharing

I really don’t believe in love at first sight though it’s what I tell a guy when he tells me he likes me and I don’t feel the same way. “Sorry but, I don’t see any spark between us even before we first met..” Call me a liar or so, but I can’t help it. As they say, there’s no easy way to break somebody’s heart.Love at first sight, is it just an overstatement made by media or it could happen in real life? Oh well, you will not understand unless you yourself will experience it. It was late afternoon when we went to have a prayer service to a friend’s dead brother. Just after the prayer, we went outside to play cards. I saw him, this not so tall, dark, not so much of a gym guy and handsome figure. He flashed a smile… a smile that will truly make your heart beats louder than a nuclear bomb explosion. Ok, ok, I’m exaggerating. What I really mean is, he has the most gorgeous smile on the face of the planet. And you’ll probably get addicted to it. Anyway, he’s a friend of my friend. My friend introduced him to us, I didn’t really got his name because my mind was busy saving that smile in my consciousness. These past days, I get a lot of memory gaps. That’s why I have to stop my world for a few seconds to really get my recording done properly. We sat together as a group, they had a lot of funny stories, especially gorgeous smile guy, and he laughs hard. We were laughing so hard we forgot someone is dead in that place. But anyway, I thought I was feeling something really unexplainable that time. Is this what they call love at first sight? I don’t exactly know but what ever it is I like it! I guess the universe was really in favor of me that afternoon. “What’s her name again?” he asked my friend pointing me. “ah…” he answered as soon as me and my friend told him my name at the same time. Then he flashed his smile again and take note, the smile was exclusive for me that it sent twenty thousand lightning volts in my veins. I was in cloud nine. But then I hoped nobody noticed.

Then it came as a shock to me, someone so pretty came from the front gate. Gorgeous smile guy went to meet her then kiss her on her cheek. “Sorry, I’m late hon…” she said. That instant, I felt like I fell from cloud nine. I think I hurt my heart. My friend greeted her then introduced her to us. Reality bit me, hard! Ouch… So much with my love at first sight fantasy…

Love at first sight… it doesn’t come along in my life very often. Though it didn’t turn out as I expected it to be, I’m thankful I experienced it. Who knows, I might experience it again somehow and this time I would not only receive twenty thousand volts of lightning but one billion tons of love and happiness! J

Sapagkat nangangamoy ang iyong mga paa!
And mga babae’y hindi kinikilig kundi nanginginig
Sa tuwing iyong tinatabihan dahil naglalaglagan
ang iyong malalaking balakubak!

Akala lang pala ang lahat ng ito, turn off ako!
Ikaw na nga…!!!
