KUYA JOHNNY

He smiles and greets me whenever I meet him in the hallway. He knows everyone who comes in and goes out of the building. He is the one we look for every time someone accidentally locked the rest room’s main door. This strong built, dark skinned, tall guy who possesses the pearliest set of teeth ever is Kuya Johnny. He is the friendliest building maintenance crew in my school building.

In one of our short conversations, I’ve learned that he is only twenty years old. He is definitely not a kuya! He never finished college. He has to work in order for him to send his siblings to school. He told me he never questioned God why he was not given the a lot of opportunities in life. He still believe that he is blessed because of the opportunity of letting his family know that God loves them through him. I was amazed by his outlook!

To Kuya Johnny, I salute you. May you inspire other people more with the simple things you do for them. And thanks for making the rest rooms clean always!
