Miss you

Every year, one of my best buddies would come home with me and celebrate with my family the holidays. Her parents and family are abroad and she is the only one left here in the country. Her whole family was petitioned by her grandparents who were based in the USA. But she had an age requirement problem for her immigration visa, so she couldn’t join her parents in leaving the country. She was told that the problem will be solved the next year. But it has been three years now and still her visa is not yet in her hands. So she became my family’s new member every Christmas. Though she was not living with us (she has her own place), we have considered her as family.
I received a call from her yesterday, my friend was excited to tell me that her immigration problem was solved and that she will be waiting for her visa. Finally, she will be with her real family from then on. But I can’t help but to start to miss her already.
